Professor Fan Zhihao has been engaged in teaching and research for over 20 years, dedicating himself to the fields of water resources and environmental management, applying engineering technology to address various water environmental issues. To date, he has published over 80 papers in international SCI journals, making him an influential scholar in Taiwan's water environment management field.

Net-Zero Emissions: Development and Application of Emerging Biological Negative Emission Technologies | Cross-disciplinary Exchange Meeting
The "Net-Zero Carbon Emissions - Development and Application of Emerging Biological Negative Emission Technologies | Cross-disciplinary Exchange Meeting" hosted by the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) was held on January 12-13, 2026. Professor Chih-Hao Fan represented our laboratory to attend and presented the latest research results at the meeting. The theme of this presentation was "Development of carbon/nitrogen fixation technologies in ammonium-concentrated industrial wastewater treatment processes using PNSB and Comammox and its low-carbon valorization applications ."

Congratulations | Lab Member Ya-Zhen Huang Honored with the 2025 Presidential Award for Graduate Students
Ya-Zhen Huang, a member of our laboratory, has been honored with the NTU Presidential Award for Graduate Students for the 2025-2026 Academic Year. The award was personally presented by President Wen-Chang Chen on November 25 in recognition of her outstanding performance in research and academic achievements. Simultaneously, Professor Chih-Hao Fan was granted the "Dissertation Supervisor Award" for the Presidential Award for Graduate Students, demonstrating our laboratory's strong capabilities in research training and academic mentorship. This recognition not only represents the result of exceptional individual effort but also highlights the research capacity and continuous dedication of our laboratory in the field of Bioenvironmental Systems Engineering.

Participating in the SEARCA Executive Board Meeting and Visiting The University of Tokyo
Representing the university, Professor Chih-Hao Fan conducted an official visit to Tokyo, Japan, from November 17 to 20, 2025, to attend the SEARCA Executive Board meeting. In conjunction with this mission, he also visited The University of Tokyo to facilitate discussions on dual degree programs and long-term collaborations.
