\ud83d\udce3 Professor Chih-Hao Fan conducted an academic visit to Japan from October 23rd to 28th, 2025.<\/strong> This mission aimed to deepen bilateral cooperation between Taiwan and Japan in agriculture and environment through three key objectives: visiting Hokkaido University<\/strong>\u3001Tohoku University<\/strong>\uff0c\u4e26\u8d74 Morioka<\/strong> \u53c3\u8207 the 2025 PAWEES International Conference<\/strong>\uff0c\u6df1\u5316\u81fa\u65e5\u9593\u5728\u8fb2\u696d\u8207\u74b0\u5883\u9818\u57df\u7684\u5408\u4f5c\u4ea4\u6d41\u3002<\/p>\n

\ud83c\udfeb\u00a0Strengthening Multilateral Cooperation with Hokkaido University<\/strong><\/p>\n

Professor Fan visited the Faculty of Agriculture at Hokkaido University and held discussions with Dean Lin regarding the promotion of multilateral research projects in collaboration with\u00a0the Joint Research Center of the University of Illinois.<\/strong>\u00a0promotion of\u00a0multilateral research projects<\/strong>\u00a0Both parties reached a consensus to deepen their cooperation. Additionally, Professor Fan visited multiple laboratories to gain insights into the university's latest research advancements in the fields of agricultural science and bioresources.<\/p>\n

\ud83c\udf93 Advancing Dual Degree Cooperation with Tohoku University<\/strong><\/p>\n

At the Graduate School of Agriculture, Tohoku University, Professor Fan engaged in a symposium with Dean Lin and several faculty members to conduct in-depth discussions on the proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for dual degree programs.<\/strong> The discussions covered:<\/p>\n

    regulations for degree awarding<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    the feasibility of operational processes.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    This visit paves the way for future student exchanges, transnational programs, and dual degrees, expanding the exchange of talent between the two universities in the fields of agriculture and the environment.<\/p>\n

    \ud83c\udf0d Participating in the 2025 PAWEES International Conference and Presenting Research Results<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Professor Fan attended the 2025 PAWEES Annual Meeting in Morioka<\/strong>and presented two research outcomes, including a poster presentation titled:
    \u201cImpact on agricultural irrigation under the influence of climate change and adaptation strategies for stabilizing agricultural irrigation water supply.\u201d<\/strong>
    The research explores the resilience, risk assessment methodologies, and Nature-based Solutions (NbS) for agricultural irrigation water sources under the influence of climate change, with Taoyuan City serving as a pilot case for methodological validation.<\/p>\n
